MANAGED BACKUP FOR SMEs
Backing up your data is not enough. You need to be able to restore it.
AXOUND provides managed cloud backup for Swiss SMEs, designed to protect the data your business depends on and make it recoverable when it is actually needed.
You keep your current IT environment and IT provider. AXOUND manages the backup setup, monitoring and recovery support.
A backup only matters if your business can recover what it needs.
A backup can run for months without ever being used. The real test comes when important business information suddenly becomes unavailable.
Protect the right data
The information your business depends on must actually be included in the backup scope.
Keep copies separate
A problem affecting your working environment should not be able to take every copy with it.
Know how recovery works
The moment data becomes unavailable is not the time to discover how to recover it.
WHAT AXOUND MANAGES
Managed, not just installed
AXOUND manages the backup service over time. The objective is not to add another tool, but to know that the data identified as important is actually being protected and can be recovered when needed.
01
Define what needs protecting
We agree with you which data and sources belong in the backup scope.
02
Automate the backups
Copies are created automatically according to the architecture defined for your environment.
03
Monitor the process
AXOUND monitors backup execution and identifies failures that require attention.
04
Support recovery when needed
When data needs to be recovered, you have an identified contact who knows how the backup environment is set up.
One problem should not be able to reach every copy
The service uses separate copies and locations so that a problem affecting the data you work with does not automatically affect the copies you rely on for recovery.
HOW THE DATA IS SEPARATED
Working data
The files and information your teams use every day.
Separate backup copy
An additional copy kept apart from the working environment.
Off-site cloud copy
A copy stored in a separate cloud environment and protected against unintended changes or deletion.
Built around the 3-2-1-1-0 principle
The architecture follows the principle of maintaining multiple copies on separate storage, including an off-site copy and a copy protected against alteration, with monitoring designed to identify backup failures. This type of managed service is sometimes referred to as Backup as a Service (BaaS).
Managed Backup protects the data. It does not restart the whole business.
Managed Backup is one part of recovery readiness. It does not replace a Disaster Recovery plan.
Managed Backup
Protect and recover the data the business depends on.
Define the data that needs protecting. Maintain separate backup copies. Monitor backup execution. Provide a clear path to recover data when needed.
Disaster recovery
Restart the wider operating environment.
Define what must recover first. Organize the required systems and dependencies. Define roles and recovery procedures. Restore the wider operating environment.
Managed Backup helps ensure that the data required for recovery is protected and recoverable. Disaster Recovery addresses the broader question of how the business and its systems are brought back into operation.

CHF 300 / month / Tb
Managed Backup service. 1 Tb minimum.
CHF 200 setup
Initial setup and service activation.
Monitored backups
Backup execution is monitored and failures requiring attention are identified.
Recovery support
When data needs to be recovered, you have an identified contact who knows the setup.
Frequently asked questions
Does this service replace my IT provider?
No. AXOUND can work alongside your existing IT provider. The service focuses specifically on protecting and recovering the data included in the agreed backup scope.
Is Managed Backup the same as Disaster Recovery?
No. Managed Backup protects and recovers data. Disaster Recovery addresses the wider recovery of systems, dependencies and business operations.
Where are the cloud backup copies stored?
AXOUND is based in Switzerland, while cloud backup copies are stored in European regions according to the architecture agreed for your environment
How is data protection handled?
AXOUND takes Swiss data-protection requirements into account when designing and operating the service and, where applicable, European requirements as well. The relevant providers, storage locations and contractual data-processing arrangements are defined according to the customer environment and agreed scope.
What types of data can be backed up?
The scope depends on your environment. Business files, storage systems, NAS devices and certain data held in cloud services can be included. The sources are validated before implementation.
How quickly can my data be restored?
Recovery time depends on the amount of data, the source system, connectivity and the nature of the incident. Managed Backup is not presented as a Disaster Recovery service with a guaranteed RTO. Recovery expectations are clarified before activation.
Your backups exist. Do you know what you could actually recover tomorrow?
